Welcome to the section featuring plugins developed for Minos

In addition to the theme’s native features, Spade offers a series of custom extensions for Minos to address specific needs not covered by the core theme (automatic translation, etc.).

Each extension is designed to integrate natively with Minos’s block architecture, without requiring any complex technical configuration on your part.

Here you’ll find an installation and user guide for each extension: what it does, how to activate and configure it, and important points to keep in mind.

If you need a feature that isn’t covered by any of these extensions, contact us: we’ll evaluate the feasibility of a custom development.

Automatic Translation with DeepL (Minos DeepL Translation)

Minos DeepL Translation is a Spade-specific extension that automates the translation of your content using the DeepL API. When used with Polylang, it allows you to generate a translated version of an article or page with a single click, ready for proofreading.

Prerequisite: The Polylang extension must be installed and activated on your site. Without it, Minos DeepL Translation will not work.

What Can Be Translated

The plugin can translate the following types of content:

• Pages
• Posts
• Teams
• FAQs
• Events

Install the extension

1. Go to Plugins > Add Plugin
2. Click Upload Plugin at the top of the page.
3. Select the extension's .zip file, then click Install Now.
4. Once the installation is complete, click Activate Plugin.

Configure the API key

1. Go to Settings > Minos DeepL.
2. Enter your DeepL authentication key, which is available in your DeepL account.
3. Click Save API Key.

Identify the content to be translated

In the lists of posts, pages, members, FAQs, and events, Polylang displays a column for each language configured on the site (here, 🇬🇧 English and 🇫🇷 French), identified by the language flag.

If these columns are not visible, enable them via Screen Options (at the top right of the page), then check the desired languages.

Each column shows the translation status for this language and this content:

• +: There is no translation available in this language yet.
• ✏️: A translation already exists and can be edited.

For example, on the home page, the English column displays the flag for all content (original language), while the French column displays a “+” as long as no French translation has been created.

Translate Content

1. Go to the list of content to be translated, in this example, the list of pages.
2. Select one or more items where the target language column displays a +.
3. From the bulk actions menu, select Translate to [language].
4. Click Apply.

For each selected post, the plugin will then:

• automatically translate the title, permalink, excerpt, and content;
• create a new version with the status Pending Review;
• link it to the original via Polylang;
• skip posts for which a translation already exists in that language.

Find and publish the translation

The translation does not open automatically: after clicking Apply, you remain on the list of content in the original language. The “+” in the target language column is now replaced by a pencil icon, confirming that the translation has been successfully created.

Two ways to find it:

Option 1: From the language column

Click directly on the pencil icon displayed in the target language column, on the line containing the translated content.

Option 2: From the language selector

At the top of the screen, use the Polylang language selector to switch the entire list to the target language, then locate the content (filter by Pending Review status if necessary).

In both cases:

1. Open the content, which has the status Pending Review.
2. Review the DeepL translation: adjust the vocabulary or formatting as needed.
3. Once the review is complete, publish the content as usual.
