Event block
Events are part of the “dynamic” blocks, which means that they dynamically display content created elsewhere. You won't have to copy them multiple times on your site, just call them up when you see fit!
Creating an Event
To create a new Event (content), go to the left-hand menu of your website's Dashboard, click on “Events” and then “Add an article.”
Your composition will unfold in this order:
- Start by giving it a title by clicking on this call-to-action phrase: “Enter title.” This title will be the event title and the one visible in the slug (= URL).
- Click on the + to add the desired blocks
- Click on the small pencil icon at the top right of the block to open it and edit it
- Arrange the blocks, their text, and images as you wish
- Enter the practical information about the event
- Assign one or more filters to the event: Type, Organizer, and Venue
- Add an excerpt (“Edit excerpt” in English)
- Add a featured image featured image
- Publish !
Les informations pratiques de l’événement
Each event is linked to information that will, among other things, allow them to be displayed in a specific order in the list.
The date
- Set a start and end date for your event by clicking on Start date and then End date. A calendar will open where you can select a year, month, and day.
- If your event does not last a whole day but only a few hours, check the box “The event doesn't last all day long.” You will then be able to choose a start and end time.
The time and date format is selected globally and will be applied to all locations where a date and time are displayed (i.e., for events and articles).
Read the box to change the date format the date format.
The excerpt
This is what will appear in the Event block.
The website
Copy the booking URL here, if there is one, or the URL of a page that provides detailed information about the event.
The price
Enter the price of the event.
Settings in Minotaure
To configure the visual appearance of your Events, go to the left-hand menu of your website's Dashboard, in the “Minotaure” tool. There you can choose the display options for your CPTs (colors, fonts, etc.).
→ Click on advanced blocks, then select
Events. You will find a preview of your composition on the right side of the screen and the settings on the left (+ a cross to close each composition).
You will be able to style your Events as a block, Single, and Index:
Un “bloc”, c’est-à-dire un bloc de contenu que l’on peut mettre à n’importe quel endroit d’une page pour afficher une liste d’événements ou d’articles.
A “block” meaning a block of content that can be placed anywhere on a page to display a list of events or articles.
A “Single” (or Page) is a detailed view of an event on a page.
A “listing” (or Index), i.e., a list of all events, with a set of filters at the top of the page (date, venue, etc.) that allows you to modify the search display.

Add a new composition = repeat the whole process for a new block style, to have a different Event block that you can reuse as often as you like.
- Name your new composition, and repeat the above steps one by one!
- You can delete or duplicate these new compositions (useful for quickly making small variations!).
- You can reset each group of elements at any time: the group will revert to the default block settings (if you have saved in the meantime).
I need several Event blocks with different styles
Good news: you can add as many new compositions as you want.
There are two ways to do this: duplicate an existing composition and make a few minor changes (useful for quickly creating variations on a few details) or create a new composition for a new block style and have a completely different Team block to reuse as often as you like.
- Name your new composition and repeat the steps above one by one!
- You can reset each group of elements at any time: the group will revert to the default block settings (if you have saved in the meantime).
