This guide will walk you through the process of uploading your new theme. Minos comes in the form of a .zip file that can be installed directly in your WordPress. Installation is quick and easy, taking just a few clicks from your dashboard.
What you need
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- The
minos-theme-v***.zipfile received upon purchase - Administrator access to your WordPress site.
Step 1: Go to the “Themes” section
In the left sidebar of your dashboard, hover over or click Appearance > Themes.
Step 2: Add the theme
Click the Add Theme button at the top of the page, then click the Upload Theme button on the next page, at the top of the screen.
Step 3: Upload the theme file
A new upload area will appear.
- Click Choose File.
- Select the
minos.zipfile you downloaded earlier. - Finally, click the Install Now button.
Step 4: Activate the Minos theme
Once the installation is complete, a confirmation message will appear. Click on the Activate link to make Minos the active theme for your site.
Congratulations! 🎉 The Minos theme is now installed and activated on your WordPress site.
Step 5: Install the extensions
After activating Minos, a notification will appear at the top of your WordPress dashboard. It will inform you that one extension is required and that others are recommended to get the most out of the theme.
Note: If you close this notification by clicking “Dismiss this notice” you can still find the installation page via Appearance > Install Plugins. Once all extensions are installed and active, the notification and tab will automatically disappear. They will reappear if a recommended extension is disabled.
Click Begin installing plugins to go to the plugins installation page.

Included in Minos, ACF PRO
Advanced Custom Fields Pro (ACF Pro) is the engine that powers Minos's advanced blocks, as well as several theme customization options. This plugin is what allows you, for example, to configure:
- the dynamic and advanced blocks (FAQ, Teams, Events, and Articles) available in the content editor;
- certain theme customization options, accessible from your dashboard;
- the custom fields available on your pages and posts to easily adapt your content.
Good news: it's built directly into Minos. You have nothing to install, nor to purchase separately, it's already ready to use as soon as the theme is activated, and there's no license for you to enter.
The ACF Pro license is included for 1 year with your purchase of Minos. Our team will reach out to you before it expires (first a month before, then a few days before) to offer you a renewal.
What happens if you don't renew the license?
No need to worry: your site continues to work normally and you can keep using Minos indefinitely. However, you will no longer receive theme updates (fixes, improvements, security) or ACF Pro updates via Minos, and you will lose access to technical support.
That's why, if you were to renew only one license to keep enjoying Minos to the fullest, this would be the one.
What if you use your own version of ACF?
Would you like to use your own ACF Pro license? That's entirely possible: simply install the plugin normally from Plugins > Add New, then enter your own license. Minos will automatically deactivate its built-in version to make way for yours.
Minos automatically detects if another version of ACF is active on your site and adjusts its behavior accordingly:
Situation | What happens | Updates | Advanced blocks & options | License to enter |
Nothing installed (default) | Minos's built-in ACF Pro is used | Managed automatically with theme updates | ✅ Work normally | None |
Free version of ACF installed (from Plugins > Add New) | Minos automatically deactivates ACF Free on load and displays a warning message; the two cannot coexist | No effect, ACF Free remains deactivated | ✅ ACF Pro built into Minos takes over, nothing changes for you | None |
Your own ACF Pro license installed (from Plugins > Add New) | Your plugin automatically takes over. | Your responsibility, via your own ACF account (independent of Minos) | ✅ Work normally (it's still ACF Pro, regardless of the source) | Yes, yours, to be entered in the ACF settings |
