Columns

Column is a widget that split content into columns.

image

For this widget, you'll have to precise how many columns to display in a row. If you create more columns, they'll just appear on several lines.

🔥
Warning You can display a maximum of 6 columns on one line. However, for readability reasons, we recommend a maximum of 4 columns in a row.

To add more columns, you can either duplicate the existing columns (and its content) via the icon at the bottom right of the block, either Add a column by clicking on the button in the below block.

image

In each column, you can fix:

  • title
  • text via a text editor
  • An image to upload or to choose from the WordPress library
  • An URL: depending on your website configuration, this will either create a clickable image or add a Read More button/link

Editor

This is a simple text editor with all required functionalities.

📢
Advice Each text style has its importance, both for your SEO and for accessibility reasons. Giving you content a good structure with titles and subtitles also improves its reading rate. Think about the semantics you want to implement according to the typography functionalities.

Video

The widget Video allows you to add a video within your page.

image

Its components are:

  • title
  • An introduction text
  • title linked to the video ('Subtitle')
  • The video description text (in some cases, it can be used as a transcription of the audio or visual content of the video for accessibility reasons)
  • The most important thing, the video itself: just add the link from your favorite video platform : YouTube, DailyMotion, Vimeo.
  • The image is used to define a placeholder picture that appears before the video starts (when you click on the play button).
🔥
Warning Be careful to use the "right" code for the video, meaning, the complete code (no shortcode) without parameters. Example with YouTube: - the right code is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knzsyZWbN7g - the shortcode proposed when sharing through YouTube is https://youtu.be/knzsyZWbN7g (note how the address is shortened). Bad! - code with a parameter added after the video ID (starts with `&`) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knzsyZWbN7g&ab_channel=KEXP Tip: copy the url that appears in the address bar of your browser and remove all parameters.

image

  • The image description text
  • The most important thing, the image itself : simply add the image from the WordPress media library or upload it by clicking on Add an image.

Profile

This widget puts somebody from you team in the spotlight.

image

For instance, on one page you'll be able to write "for more info on this or that, please contact our expert". And there you'll have picture, contact details and even more info on the said person.

Note that the information displayed in the module are not to be written in the module directly. They are linked to the User profile first created via the dashboard of your website.

For this part, go to the left menu of WordPress, click on 'Users', then on 'All Users' (if you have already created the said person); or on 'Add new' if it's not the case.

image

On the user's page, you can enter an email address, a picture, a biography, a social network profile, a phone number, etc., whatever you want / need.

After that, once adding the widget Profile in your page, you'll just have to select the right person in the drop-down menu. All the provided info will automatically appear.
